Description of Historic Site: The house built in 1884 by lumber baron in nearby Saugatuck Horace D. Moore. Mr. Moore’s daughter Mignon married the neighbor boy Earl Delano. More notably though it was the home of Margaret Allen an Allegan High School math teacher. She lived in the Queen Anne Revival as a widow and added apartments to the upper floors of the home mostly rented out to young teachers who were new to the district. Formally a bed and breakfast is now a private home.
