Name of Historic Site: Thomas and Anna Morrissey House
Description of Historic Site: Thomas and Anna Morrissey were part of the first settlers that came to Holland in 1867. The date of when the house was built is not documented, but property tax records reflect that there was a house built, Thomas and Anna did not purchase the property until 1870. The Morrissey house was one of the few private homes still standing after the fire of 1871. In 1996, the city of Holland purchased the house and have restored it how it would have appeared in 1871. The house is operated by the Holland Museum and is open for tours from mid-May to September.
